Case study: Sourcing a Health and Safety professional for a leading UK logistics organisation

When one of the UK’s leading logistics organisations approached us to source their new Health and Safety Manager it came with a very tight deadline - “yesterday”. Here's how we achieved it.

Role: Health and Safety Manager
Industry: Logistics and Distribution
Employee count: 250+

Setting the scene.

When one of the UK’s leading logistics organisations approached us to source their new Health and Safety Manager it came with a very tight deadline - “yesterday”.

The challenge.

Our client is a bustling logistics company operating across numerous hubs over the UK. The hub we were recruiting for was situated in a challenging location, where it’s not easy to find professionals with the skills needed, especially those living in the nearby area.

Faced with this unique set of circumstances, which included a challenging location, specific criteria and a pressing deadline, we knew we had to deliver nothing less than exceptional candidates. And that’s exactly what we set out to do.

The result.

Our team swiftly crafted a plan to find candidates from our broad network, both active and passive. We also employed effective role marketing and tapped into local connections, resulting in a shortlist of four quality candidates.

Following two rounds of interviews, a successful candidate was chosen, with the entire process taking just three weeks from signing the contract to placement. The client went so far as to mention how close the final two candidates were, with the ultimate choice being influenced by a stronger cultural fit.

Thanks to our exceptional service and success in this role, we’ve maintained a great relationship with the client and have since worked closely on other vacancies.

Principal People were professional throughout the entire process. All shortlisted candidates were exactly what we were looking for, making the final hiring decision more difficult - in a good way. I highly recommend using them.
