Collaborating with Tree App to support Indonesia’s mangroves:
Helping the world become more sustainable is a pledge we hold closely to our hearts, and we are always on the lookout for great initiatives to support. So, we are really excited to announce a new partnership between The Juhler Group and Tree App.
Through our 'Plant a Tree Campaign, ' this collaboration aims to enhance environmental sustainability and transparency and help local communities!
As part of this initiative, we pledge to plant one tree for every position we fill.
Who is Tree App?
Tree App, a global tree planting organisation, operates sites across the world, planting over 200 different species of trees across five continents. Their sustainable approach and collaboration with local farmers, communities, and experts have earned them recognition from Sir David Attenborough and international news outlets.
Our partnership:
In this partnership, we are investing in a private forest located in Indonesia, focusing on growing mangrove trees. Indonesia's unique tropical climate and archipelagic geography support some of the world's highest biodiversity levels. However, over the past three decades, Indonesia has lost over 40% of its mangrove forests, leading to increased flooding and natural water-related disasters!
Mangrove estuaries are crucial as they form natural barriers for erosion control, protecting farmers' lands during tropical storms and flooding. These reforestation efforts also benefit around 300 species of tropical birds and over 500 species of coral reefs. The importance of this area to conservationists cannot be overstated due to the broad range of species it supports.
Tree App’s approach:
Tree App's model of working directly with multiple local planting communities and NGOs ensures cost-effective and impactful reforestation. This direct approach not only enables planting at scale for corporate partners but also maximises the positive environmental, social, and economic impacts where trees are needed the most.
We are excited to embark on this journey with The Tree App, leveraging their expertise to protect and restore the local environment in Indonesia and beyond. The project is launched by planting 37,338 trees in the Juhler Group's private forest!
